Flower and Bee (1) (Southold, Long Island NY) October 4, 2009

I'm not kidding - totally a test. For me though, not for you. You won't be graded. I might be.

Bee?

These were photographed in the early morning (well, relatively early) on a crisp fall day. The bees were very busy at work, making me think for a moment that perhaps the Bee Crisis of Ought Five had been left in the dust, but I'm not sure it has. Maybe they're just working extra hard to keep from getting laid off, a result of the Credit Crisis of Ought Eight.

About ten yards away from where I photographed the busy bees is Peconic Bay. A beautiful body of water that I grew up looking at, swimming in and sailing on. I feel very lucky I was able to revisit it as the last bits of summer were slipping into fall.
